10/29 FOBTY

Ok, so since I'm an insulin-dependent diabetic, I really shouldn't be eating candy but..... I love anything with caramel in it - yummy! I started off liking Snickers (especially frozen so the caramel gets hard)! But, I think my favorite is Twix. Something about the little cookie covered in caramel. I also recently discovered 100 Grand bars - also, quite tasty and I love Whatchamacallits also -- again, the chewy, crunchy, covered in caramel with a thin chocolate coating. When I see a box of chocolates I always go for the caramels (typically square, but I have been duped by that charade before). Excuse me while I go take some insulin......

Your Autumn Sense is Touch

"You are a very tactile, physical person. Your favorite fall activities revolve around doing something.Whether you're going for a hike, cooking Thanksgiving dinner, or decorating for Halloween, you like to keep moving. You like the feel of crisp fall air as well as you like the feel of a roaring fire at night. You like invigorating mornings, perfect afternoons, and cozy nights. Whatever feeling fall brings to you, you embrace. "

Personally - I particulary like cooking for Thanksgiving!

FOBTY 10/15

I'm usually finishing up my Christmas shopping by mid November...unfortunately that leaves me more time to just happen upon more stuff between then and Christmas and I end up spending more than if I had just stopped. But, for the last few years, we've adopted 1-3 kids from the Salvation Army Angel tree so at least most of that extra stuff ends up going to the kids who need it more than mine - and my oldest son likes helping me find stuff for them too.

10/1 FOBTY

It's hard to say which season I like better here in North Texas. I would first say Spring because I HATE cold weather and although it doesn't get too cold here, it's still enough for me to wish for warmer temps. But really I think my favorite is Fall. We also don't have any trees here so I can't see all the Fall color I would like (which is why I'm so excited about my upcoming Vermont trip!). However, after the grueling temps that we get up until mid September, after 5 long months of that, I am ready for the cool down - and to start making soup and chili!

9/17 FOBTY

So the Texas State Fair will start soon and I can say that I haven't been since I was probably in elementary school. My in-laws took my son last year and they had a good time. Unfortunately, I don't 'do' rides and while funnel-cake always sounds like a wonderful idea, I regret having eaten it everytime I have one. I do know that this year, we have moved straight on up the fried food chain to.... deep fried butter. I can't tell you how gross this makes me feel just to think about it. However, I have heard of other things that have peaked my interest - fried cheesecake, fried coke, fried snickers (although I prefer them frozen) - but I know that in the end, I will feel much better (literally) not having eaten all of that! I guess the fair has lost it's appeal over the years as, being a parent of two, I realize just how much money all of that stuff costs when you're there and how many other things I could do with that same money and still have fun with the kiddos... I know, kind of a buzz-kill.
